Parental Privacy Notice and Disclosure (Ages 14-17)

Last Updated: March 27, 2026

At PlayrSite, we are committed to the safety and privacy of student-athletes. This notice explains how we handle the personal information of minors (ages 14-17) on the player product and the controls provided to parents and guardians under the Texas Securing Children Online through Parental Empowerment Act (SCOPE Act) and practices consistent with Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policies (MAAPP) expectations for observable, guardian-aware communications.

This notice supplements our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. If anything here conflicts with a court-enforceable agreement you accepted, the more specific in-product disclosures at the time of consent may govern particular features.

1. Parental Oversight and Control

Under Texas law, parents of minors under 18 have the right to supervise their child's digital presence in material respects. Our platform links a Guardian account to the minor athlete's profile so you can:

  • Toggle profile visibility: Control whether your child's athletic profile is discoverable by verified recruiting users (as our product defines them) or kept private from discovery, subject to in-product labels and flows.
  • Monitor activity: View scouting-related activity and inquiries we surface in the guardian dashboard (for example, inquiries and profile visibility events, as available in the product).
  • Approve certain actions: Where the product requires it, approve payments or team invitation paths tied to recruiting-style inquiries for minor athletes.
  • Data deletion: Request deletion or purge of your child's personal data through the tools we provide (including compliance and purge flows), subject to grace periods and legal retention described in our Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information reasonably necessary for sports management and, when enabled with your consent, recruiting-style visibility. This may include:

  • Athlete identity: Name, date of birth, and similar profile fields.
  • Athletic data: Sport, position, physical descriptors, statistics, achievements, and highlight or video links you or the athlete choose to add.
  • Academic or school information: Only if provided.
  • Contact information: We may collect the minor's email for login. We do not display the minor's email or phone to scouts or the public in the same way we do for adult players; recruiting-style contact is designed to go through our inquiry model.

What we do not collect for this purpose:

  • Precise geolocation (GPS) from the minor for this product path.
  • Biometric data for these features.
  • The minor's payment card credentials (payments run through our payment processor; guardians may approve charges as the product requires).

3. Scouting Inquiry System (Safety First)

We use a protected inquiry model for minor athletes:

  • One-way inquiry: Verified recruiting users may send a general inquiry through the platform. Minors cannot use the platform to reply directly to scouts in a way that opens a private back-channel; further steps may require guardian action where the product enforces that rule.
  • Parent or guardian notification: When an inquiry is sent to a minor athlete (14-17), we send notification to the registered parent or guardian so the communication is observable.
  • Transparency: Together with guardian dashboard tools, this supports communications that are observable and interruptible by a parent, consistent with MAAPP-style expectations for platforms that facilitate adult-minor contact in sports contexts.

4. No Targeted Advertising to Minors

In line with the Texas SCOPE Act, PlayrSite does not direct targeted advertising at minor athletes based on their activity on the Service. We do not sell your child's personal information to data brokers. Optional analytics cookies may be limited for minor sessions as described in our Cookie Policy.

5. Age and Profile Accuracy

We require users to provide an accurate date of birth at registration. Date of birth may be locked after registration for minor athletes to reduce the risk of age misrepresentation, with changes handled only through our support or admin processes where we allow them. Guardians should keep guardian contact information current.

6. Contact Us for Privacy Requests

If you wish to review, correct, or delete your child's information, or if you have questions about safety protocols:

Email: support@playrsite.com (subject line: "Minor athlete privacy")
Mail: PlayrSite, 17350 State Hwy 249, Ste 220 #33136, Houston, TX 77064

For legal inquiries: legal@playrsite.com

By allowing your child to maintain a player profile on PlayrSite, you acknowledge that you have reviewed these safety protocols and have access to the parental and guardian controls provided in the Guardian Dashboard and related in-product tools.
